For our video for The B Group, I have looked into doing time lapses in order to make our actual music video have more contrast and more aesthetic to match the style and mis en scene of the music video. Before filming I went on a 'reccie' with a few friends and found this spot at Beetham Plaza which is opposite the Liver Building. Here we found that the ledge was at a perfect height to see the cars and had enough space for the actor to sit without any big risk. I feel like a time lapse here would be a good idea as the overall relaxing vibe it gives goes well with the music video which would fulfil target audience expectations because of the genre of the song.
In terms of camera angles, the mid shot creates a sense of mystery as the actors face is not in view however, I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing due to the fact that the main focus is the fast cars going past. For our actual video I think that we should use a wide shot by putting the camera further away from the actor, as I feel this would subliminally connote a sense of loneliness or peacefulness which would be a good establishing shot or transition.
