How our music video supports certain theorists (MD)

In our video there are many concepts and segmants whcih abide certain theorists in ways on codes and conventions.

For example Vernallis suggests that in the videos the narrative migth be fragmented. In certain spects of our video the storyline of friends being together and meeting up is lost.
For example after we meet up there is a moment where the lyics goes 'free as a bird'. Despite the stoyline being us together the video shows Boj on his own on a ledge.

Also our video goes with Goodwins theory of the video being an 'extension of the lyrics' For example when we say 'Across the summer shore' that scene is by a river with the sunlight in the background. But our video also goes against it as the song says 'As the Old Pine fell we sang' we seperate and Owen sings the line alone. This creates disjudement.

Also we go with Todorovs theory of 'New equilibriam'. At the beginning even though this a film our story line abides by this. So we start off apart, then that in broken by us all meeting up. Then the new equilbiriam is all of us together. But due to this being film theory it is very loose on our video as it is hard to realise that we ended up together as moments in the video suggest that we apart as stated above. This theory though creates a sense of understanding to our confused  narrative.

We also abide by Sveen E Carlsons theory that a video can only fall into to 2 types of concepts. Performacne and Conceptual. Performacne being when we sing, instuments etc. The conceptual being the story line of us being in a adventure such as time lapse of tree, time lapse of cars, videos of us running down the stairs etc.

We also follow Barthes' theory of Sematic Code' When the lyrics are connoted through the video. This is shown also again when we say 'The friends around you are all youll ever have' Thsi is shown as we are together when this lyrics is sang.
